SM360 joined the circle of the 50 largest employers for the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) on March 22nd, 2016. We were awarded this special status during a ceremony held at ÉTS.
I experienced the benefits from a cooperative paid internship program during my undergraduate degree at the University of Sherbrooke. My experiences pushed me to start to offer this opportunity to students. Now, for 15 years, we have been hiring interns often at a rate of 2 to 4 per session. This is an effective and healthy method that allows financial benefits for our future potential employees. This practice has also been crucial for supporting the explosive growth rate of SM360 over the past 5 years.
It is almost unanimous that our students mention their experience with SM360 as the best stage during their Bachelor’s degree
Engineering trainees in information technology and software engineering are the main source of recruitment in our development team. By adapting our coaching and training process to the reality of the students, they feel like full-fledged employees on their first stay with us. It is almost unanimous that our students mention their experience with SM360 as the best stage during their Bachelor’s degree and they often come back for a second term.
This mentality has led to nearly 30 internships over the past 5 years, which includes 13 students in 2015 alone. Many of these interns become full-time employees at the end of their studies. Our Development Director, Jean-Gabriel Philippe and our Infrastructure and Operations Manager Philippe Gratton are both alumni of ÉTS!
Our offices are strategically located on three floors of the Carrefour d’innovation INGO in the heart of ETA’s university campus. We provide an important and practical training in the balance of work and school.
